Richard "Dick" Altie Patterson, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Grand Army Veteran's Home in King, WI. Dick was born on February 27, 1927 in Richland Center, WI the son of the late Curtis and Eva (Roudebush) Patterson. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre.
Richard was united in marriage to Delphine D. "Daisy" Rasmussen on November 26, 1946 in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2005. Together they started their family in Lake Delton , moving to Sauk City in 1959. Prior to retirement, Dick was a member of Madison Local 394 Steamfitters Union and was employed by Johnson Controls. He enjoyed a good game of golf and had been a member of the Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
Dick is survived by four children, Bruce (Corinne) Patterson of Madison, Melodee (Dan McGill) Patterson of Madison, Diane Patterson of Prairie du Sac, and Steven (Beverly) Patterson of Columbus; two brothers, Charles (Joan) Patterson of Waupaca and John (Ruth) Patterson of Marion, IN; six grandchildren, Chad Reuter, Michelle (Jerry) Niesen, Andrea (Greg) Mauch, Marissa (William Conder) Lins, Dana (Brad) Fletcher and Shelby Patterson; eight great-grandchildren, Leanna and Malea Niesen, Madelyn and Myles Mauch, Alexander Conder, Saige Piltz, and Aaron and Tyler Fletcher; former daughter-in-law Connie Hansen; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Hagen of Syracuse, NY and Donna Greenwood of Wisconsin Dells; and an infant brother James.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00am at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI. Military Rites will be accorded by Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service.
