IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard J.
Prisching
November 13, 2020
Richard J. Prisching, 94, a World War II veteran originally of Chicago, passed away on Friday, November 13th at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. Richard will be buried next to his beloved wife of 61 years, Elaine, who preceded him in death along with his parents, Teresa Rose and George, and brothers, Robert and George. He is survived by his 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a plethora of loving nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Richard was a proud veteran serving under General Patton's 5th Army in Europe. Due to the hard work of his granddaughters, wife, children and the Badger Honor Flight program, he had the opportunity to see the National World War II Memorial erected in honor of all WW II veterans.
Upon his return from the war, he started his life-long career of carpentry, woodworking and cabinet making eventually retiring as a head woodworking estimator – contributing to the construction of many iconic buildings that make up the skyline of Chicago. He enjoyed dancing at the Aragon ballroom, golfing with Elaine, fishing and boating on Lake Wisconsin, building doll houses, helping his children and grandchildren with their many home projects and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Badger Honor Flight of Wisconsin.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
