Richard William Siedschlag, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 23, 2013. He was born on December 22, 1952 to the late William F. and Adrienne A. (Anctil) Siedschlag. Rich graduated from Middleton High School in 1971. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, being discharged in 1974, and later attended MATC's Mechanics School. Rich worked as a mechanic at several shops and currently was employed at Palmer Johnson Power Systems in Sun Prairie. He married Gail Soelle on September, 26, 1992. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2002. Rich enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, his race team- SHS Racing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his 3 children, Shane (Heather) Siedschlag, Seth (Sarah Kraus) Siedschlag and Carmen (Travis) Bruss, all of Marshall; 2 step-children, Tiffani (Chris) Duncan of Oconto Falls and Amanda Soelle of Marshall; 12 grandchildren, Canon, Huston and Lincoln Siedschlag, Nia Davis, McKenzye, Gavin and Mason Bruss, Brielle Soelle, Deyton, McKenna, Madisyn, and Dawson Duncan; his siblings, Patricia Siedschlag of Waunakee, Thomas (Mary) Siedschlag of Cross Plains and Ann Marie Siedschlag of Madison; a former wife, Mary Maas of Marshall; many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Siedschlag.
A funeral service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013. Burial, with Military Honors accorded by Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694, will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm, and also on Monday, one hour prior to the service.
