Robert “Bob” L. Henseler, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Prairie du Sac on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. He was born in Appleton to the late George and Seraphine (Schreiber) Henseler. Bob was a graduate of Hilbert High School; class of 1964. Following high school Bob attended University of Oshkosh earning his business degree. Upon graduation from Oshkosh Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1971 and was stationed in Germany.
Bob was united in marriage to Jean Barlow on Nov. 23, 1968; together they had three children, Scott, Mark and Stephanie. Jean preceded Bob in death on Aug. 24, 2002. Bob worked in the finance department for Oscar Mayer and later Kraft Foods until his retirement in 2001.
Bob was active in his condo community, he was instrumental in establishing the River Oaks Condo association, and served as condo president or vice president for 19 years. Bob enjoyed playing golf and boating on the Madison lakes and enjoyed an annual fishing trip with friend and family.
Bob later met and married Judy Weidemann (Haas) on June 5, 2004. Together they enjoyed camping trips, traveling, reading and walking frequently and especially loved taking European river cruises with his brothers and their spouses.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Scott (Sherry) and Sherry’s children, Heather (Mark) and their children Charlotte and Alice Domaszek, and Ray and Devin Morrison; Mark (Beckie) Henseler and Mark’s children, Derek and Abbey Henseler and Beckie’s children, Jack, Abbie and Delaney Doran; Stephanie (AJ) Hosig and their children, Amelia and Vivian; siblings, Sylvester (Pat), Gary (Janet) and Larry Henseler; sister-in-law, Margaret “Peg” Henseler; sister-in-law Sharon Haas and nieces Megan (Mark) Breunig and Lauren Haas, along with many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jean; Bob was preceded in death by siblings, Marion (Mickey) Price and Gerald Henseler, and brother-in-law Dennis Haas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 10:45 am at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City the day of mass. Private Interment to be held the next day.
Bob’s family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the caregivers, healthcare professionals with SSM Health and Agrace Hospice who have helped Bob and helped him to remain at home.
Bob’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Bob’s name to either Second Harvest Food Bank or to Agrace Hospice.
