Robert V. "Bob" Leidig, age 73, died suddenly on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at his home. He was born in Honey Creek on February 14, 1936, the son of Arthur and Cecelia A. (Eckstein) Leidig. He was united in marriage to Karen Markert on August 26, 1961. Bob began his working career with Wick Building Company and later began crop-farming, tree service and snow removal businesses. He was very proud that his sons and grandsons are following in his footsteps. Bob enjoyed the morning gatherings at the Eagle Inn and playing cards with the Euchre Club. He is survived by his wife Karen; four children, Tammy (Gary Nolden), Terry, Todd and Tim; two grandsons, Justin and Owen Frosch; four sisters, Eunice Sopher, MaryAnn Hartmann, Audrey (Robert) Markee and Lois (Paul) Emhoff; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gordon Hartmann. Funeral services will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009 with Rev. Larry Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the funeral home.
