Robert "Bob" D. Harpold, age 87, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born in Racine on December, 12, 1923 to the late Frank and Ethel (Mattison) Harpold. Bob served proudly in the United States Army during World War II with the Blue Devils 88th Infantry Division. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Johnson on June 22, 1943 in Greenwood Township. She preceded him in death. Bob enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Bob is survived by a son, Dennis (Paula) of Merrimac; four grandchildren, Scott (Kari), Dale, Greg (Nicole), and Mark (friend Ashley); six great-grandchildren, Lili, Micah, Dylan, Gavin, Karlie, and Thea.



In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, David.


A funeral service will be held at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church on Friday. A private interment will be held.
