Robert J. Enge, age 96, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 at Maplewood Nursing Home. He was born near Black Hawk on September 29, 1913, the son of the late Charles and Wilhelmina (Gasser) Enge. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Sharpe on August 23, 1941. Mr. Enge raised his family on the Enge family farm, was a counselor for the U.S. Army and later returned to education as Jr. High teacher and middle school principal at Sauk Prairie Schools. He was an active community supporter and volunteer.


Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Prairie du Sac,
three children; Craig (Laura Jean) Enge of Washington state,
Catherine (John) Douglass of North Carolina,
Mark (Vicky) Enge of Mississippi,
two grandchildren; James Douglass and
Anna (Joonas) Ojanen and a
great granddaughter, Ayla other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by siblings; Clarence, Howard, Carl and Wallace Enge and Ramona James.


A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac with Pastor Sally Williams officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service . Interment will be later in the Black Hawk Cemetery.
