> Robert "Bob" Fowler, 96, passed away peacefully on July 23 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Prairie du Sac, Wis. Bob is the son of L.D and Edith Fowler. He was born on April 2, 1914, and grew up during the Great Depression. This period had a great impact on his adult life. Bob maintained a very strong religious belief, and, he and his wife were members of the First Church of the Nazarene), He "recycled" before anyone knew what it meant and if it broke, he fixed it! Bob's ability to turn "junk" into something useful, or to turn a weed patch into a flower garden, amazed friends and neighbors alike. Although he started out owning his own portable feed mill in 1938, he transitioned into the ground feed delivery business and then joined Micro Switch in Freeport, in the early 1950s. He worked in the gauge department
> before retiring to spend more time with his family, his garden and his number one hobby "Ham Radio."
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence (Eder); his sister, Mayme; and an infant brother, Edward. He is survived by his brother Earl, of Port Orange, Florida; two sons Gene (Kay) of Plymouth, Wis., and Vern (Judy) of Prairie du Sac, Wis.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Although Bob was unable to continue his gardening in the later years of his life due to arthritis, he maintained a constant presence on the radio.

A nmemorial service will be held in Bob's honor at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 26 at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, IL, in the chapel with burial immediately following the brief service.
