Robert Alvin "Bob" Granger, passed away peacefully with his family and close friends at his side on October 1, 2016, after a short, tough battle with lung cancer at Hospice House in Baraboo. Robert was born in New Lisbon, WI the second of four children to the late Alvin and Ella Granger. After graduating class of 1960 from New Lisbon high school he pursued an Associate Degree in the automotive field. With that, he began a life long career at the Ford garages in New Lisbon and Madison and eventually retiring from the Ford garage in Sauk City after 29 years.

He met his wife of 47 years, Betty Ann Jay, in the summer of 1967. In the summer of 1969 they were married. They moved to Prairie du Sac from Oregon , WI in 1976. Here they lived and raised their two children Jennifer (David) Martin and Jason (Sindee) Granger both of Prairie du Sac.

In life , Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. He always had a joke or a good story to tell and a friendly wave or a smile on his daily walks. He could always be counted on to help a friend or a neighbor with a problem. Bob loved to drive his moped to get around and you could set your watch by him! His most recent favorite pastime was hanging out with family and friends; fishing and frolicking at "Granger's Getaway" on Crystal Lake, his summer home away from home.


Bob is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ann Granger; daughter, Jennifer (David) Martin; his son, Jason (Sindee) Granger all of Prairie du Sac; his grandkids, Marshall, Garrison, JoElla, Alesha, Tyler (Krystal) ,Kloee and Natilee and his granddog, Duke; a brother, Roy (Jill) of New Lisbon; two sisters,Joan (Ray) Ferdon and Janet Granger; sisters in law Linda (Lee) Churchill, Vivian Rittenhouse, and Lela Luke, all of Mauston area; brother in law, Harland (Marie) Jay and many more special relatives and friends. Bob was a spirited guy and will be greatly missed by many who knew him.


A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac, WI. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the church and also on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
