Obituary

Robert G. Kirschner, age 57, died unexpectedly on August 1, 2015. He was born October 16, 1957 in Madison, WI to William (Bill) and Mary (Greenhalgh) Kirschner.

He graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1975, where he participated in tennis and golf. The golf team finished in fifth place in the state when he was a senior. Bob was also a talented musician and played coronet in the band. He won many medals for coronet solos. His exceptional musical skills were inherited from his mother. Although he could not read music, he could hear a song once and play it.

At Ferris State, Bob earned a BA in Business Marketing/Golf Professional. As a stalwart on the Ferris golf team, he helped lead it to great success. He completed his Ferris education with golf internships in Houston, TX ,Tulsa, OK and Rye, NY, and held a PGA card for a year.

He continued his involvement in golf while attending Creighton Law School, where he earned his law degree, and won the annual Law School golf tournament 3 consecutive years.

After law school, he worked in the insurance and finance fields for many years.

As a natural athlete, he excelled in any sport in which he participated. He spent many hours as a young boy at Lake Wisconsin Country Club coming home with many quarters in his pocket earned from putting challenges. He followed Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball and the Green Bay Packers, of which he was a share holder. He enjoyed fishing at the Prairie du Sac Dam.

His calm and quiet demeanor, wry sense of humor, unselfish acts and attention to detail to the point of perfection will be greatly missed. Bob was a true renaissance man.

The family will forever remember him as Our Guy, Bulldog, and Butch, though friends will remember him as Butch, or Bob.

Robert is survived by his brother, Bruce Kirschner (Madison), his sister, Sandy (John) Zemke (Sheboygan), a niece, Katy Zemke (Sheboygan) and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Ernest and Ida (Zick) Kirschner; and William F. and Adaleine (Jax) Greenhalgh.

A private service with the immediate family will be held at a later date.
