June 16, 1937 – October 13, 2023
Robert L. Beres, (86) of Merrimac, passed away on October 13,2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin on June 16,1937 the son of John and Lillian (Kupper) Beres.
Bob was a military veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps as a Non-Commissioned Officer. Bob was united in marriage to Kay Kinyon on September 15, 1962 at St. Joe's Parish in Racine, Wisconsin. He was proud of his alma maters, St. Catherine's High School and Dominican College. Bob worked for Modine Manufacturing in Racine, WI, Knoxville, TN and as Plant Manager in McHenry, IL. Later, he worked at Springs Windows where he retired and moved to Merrimac.
He enjoyed his retirement on Lake Wisconsin, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Bob was very proud of his vegetable gardens, fruit trees and his beautiful flowers. He also made delicious homemade wine. Bob volunteered at the voting polls for years.
Bob is survived by: his loving wife, Kay Beres; his son, Mark (Vicki); his son Steven (Michelle "Shelly"). He's also survived by: his grandchildren Melisa (Jason) Gronlund; Anthony Beres (Brooke and Andrew); Gavyn Beres and Hannah, Klara and Holly Hokenson.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 Second Street, Baraboo, Wisconsin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Visitation at the church will be held from 9:30-11:00 am. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Bob's family would like to thank SSM Health at Home Hospice for their loving care. Hooverson Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
