Obituary

Robert E. Stoller, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. He was born January 16, 1921 in Argyle, the son of the late Emil and Bertha (Weidman) Stoller. He served with the Army Medical Corps during WWII. He was united in marriage to Ruth Maureer on March 18, 1950.

Bob owned and operated the Friendly Inn in Mazomanie for 20 years and also served as a rural mail carrier for many years. He was a member of New Heights Lutheran Church, Mazomanie Lions Club, American Legion Post #437, V.F.W. Post #9336, 40 et 8, and a founding member of the Wisconsin River Sportsmans Club. He was happy and proud to be on the Badger Honor Flight in September.


Survivors include a daughter; Nancy Stoller of Mazomanie; a sister; Margaret (Fred) Hartwig of Monroe; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and a son, Tom Serafini.



A funeral service will be held at NEW HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, Mazomanie, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be in the Mazomanie Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 702 Emily Rd., Mazomanie, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
