William Patterson
December 9, 1933 – August 15, 2025
Robert "Pat" William Patterson, age 91, passed away peacefully at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025. He was born at home (Lodde's Mill) in the Prairie du Sac Township on Dec. 9, 1933, to the late Robert W. and Alma (Bohnsack) Patterson Sr. He attended and graduated from Sauk City High School; class of 1951. He was united in marriage to Corinne (Hemberger) Noel on Oct. 27, 1951, she preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1997.
Pat worked as a mason for the Madison Area Carpenters Union #314 for many years, acting as a foreman, building concrete foundations. In 1982 he retired from the construction business and bought the Sauk Prairie Liquor Store and operated it for the next 13 years before officially enjoying his retirement.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and summers spent at the Lake Wisconsin Boat Club. Pat was a sports fan; especially if the Brewers were on, and Sarah Osgood spent many hours watching and talking sports with Pat. He was proud of his family and looked forward to family events.
He is survived by his children, Clyde (Joyce) and Patrick (Amanda) Patterson; grandchildren, Jesse (Jennifer) Patterson, Noelle (Justin) Romy, Grant, Luke (Ila) Morgan, Elizabeth (Will) Kidwell, Jay (Stacy) Heal, Jennifer (Chris) Burns; great grandchildren, Blake Heal and Weston Kidwel. He is further survived by his longtime friend and companion, Jean Knuth and her children Sandy Osgood, Patti Knuth and Roger Knuth and their families, including Anna, William, Emelllia, Sullivan, and Marryn Osgood who loved Grandpa Pat dearly.
In addition to his parents and wife, Corinne; he was preceded in death by a son, Noel; and daughter-in-law, Diane Patterson; his siblings, John, Hazel, LaVern (Stub), Ethel (Dolly), Alma (Birdie), and Paul (Wiggy)
A private family graveside service will be held in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, at a later date. Pat's family would like to express their gratitude to Maplewood Nursing Home and to his companion, Jean for staying by his side. Jean expresses a special thank you to Maplewood staff and Scott & Amy Osgood for their help in caring for Pat through the years.
