Roberta "Berta" Ann Maier, 55, of Baraboo, died peacefully on March 21, 2018 at the UW Hospital in Madison. She was born in Cincinnati on July 19, 1962, to Robert and Margery (Grinter) Timmons.

Berta graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1980. On October 7, 1983, she married Michael "Mike" Maier, a master electrician, with whom she spent 35 loving years. The couple co-owned Maier Electric. Berta's two beautiful children, Robert and Erica, were the most important part of her life. A devoted mother, Berta was known for her constant willingness to help those within her family as well as others in need. She was quick-witted and outspoken, with a laugh that carried for blocks. In recent years, Berta and Mike enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, RVing to the Great Smokey Mountains, and a New Year's getaway to the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Berta's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Berta is survived by her mother; her husband Mike, her son, Robert and his fiancée Kendra; her daughter Erica, Erica's husband Matthew, and their son Jackson; her lovable loaf of a dog, Louie; and her three elder sisters, Renee Timmons, Cheryl Volbrecht, and Lynn Bartholomew. She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Hooverson Funeral Home in Sauk City. A funeral service will follow. Memorial donations may be made to Donate Life America.
