IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robin G.
Purcell
January 6, 1954 – April 7, 2024
Robin G. Purcell of Merrimac, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born on January 6, 1954, in Baraboo, WI to Earl Dean Purcell and Donna (Getschman) Purcell. He attended Sauk Prairie Schools, graduating in the class of 1972. On October 13, 1984, he was united in marriage to Karen Gorman of Poynette. Robin was a proud member of Steamfitters Union Local 394/601, retiring in 2010. He was also a member of the Lodi Curling Club.
On May 5, 2014, Robin received the gift of a new heart. In the words of his UW Transplant team, he was a "true inspiration." He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, old cars, playing cards and curling, especially with his sons. He loved taking trips with Karen and his mother-in-law, Mary.
Robin is survived by his wife, Karen, his sons. Cam (Steph), and Kelly (Dany), his grandchildren, Quinn, Blair, Zoe, and Leo; His siblings, Richard Purcell, Deborah (Rod) Merritt, Dawn (Randy) Theisen, Nola Purcell, Jane (Joe) Radske, and Heather Purcell; sister-in-law, Connie Purcell; mother-in-law, Mary Gorman, brother's-in-law Cory (Tammy) Gorman, and Jeff (Michelle) Gorman.
He is also survived by many friends, nieces and nephews. Robin was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert (Bob) Purcell and father-in-law, John (Jack) Gorman. Robin was a lot to many, but to us he was Robby, husband, Dad, son, brother and best of all grandpa. Words will never be enough to describe the hole left from his absence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Restoring Hope Transplant House, 7457 Terrace Avenue, Middleton, WI 53562.
A private family service will be held on Monday, May 6 at the Dorf Haus in Roxbury. All are welcome to attend Robin's Celebration of Life also May 6 at the Dorf Haus from 3:00-6:00.
