Roger Robert Kasiska, age 72, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home. He was born on November 7, 1939 in Cook County, IL, the son of the late Robert and Agnes (Hickey) Kasiska, and attended college in Montana. Following college, he entered the U.S. Air Force, where his enlistment ended after a tour in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Betty (Roberts) Ewing on August 5, 1972. Roger had various police officer jobs, starting in Iowa County, and ending with 26 years with the Sauk Prairie Police Department, retiring in 1995. He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Prairie du Sac; children, Dan (Carmen) Kasiska of Jacksonville, FL, Ellen Schneeberg of Prairie du Sac, Jay (Sheri) Ewing of Merrimac, Todd Ewing of Madison and Randy (Stephanie) Ewing of Prairie du Sac. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many friends and relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Dick and Don Feitht.
A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Reedsburg.
