Ronald T. "Beanie" Diehl, age 71 passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous 62 year old battle with Type 1 Diabetes.

He was born on January 22, 1949 the son of Theodore (Ted) and Verna Diehl. He graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1967. After graduation he held various warehouse jobs, and ended up working for the State of Wisconsin for 19 years before retiring.

Ron loved hunting, and did so until the final days of his life. He also loved to talk about hunting to anyone and everyone who wanted, and always did it with a smile. Everyone who met him knows his humor was contagious. He enjoyed fishing, making people laugh, and going on road trips to anywhere. His favorite place to be was on his land near Loganville, where he could be seen mowing as often and as long as possible. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Prairie Du Sac, and loved God more than anything. He could be caught listening to music at any moment, his favorites were CCR, Christmas Music, MercyMe, Bruce Springsteen, and any religious or gospel recording he could find on Youtube.   His kindness and overall happiness will be missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret, daughter Amy Progar, son Kevin, grandson Josh Progar, great granddaughter Sophia, brother Stanley, sisters Sandra Frey and Nancy Wipperfurth, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff and Doctors who helped Ron throughout the years.

A visitation will be held from 4pm until 7pm on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City.

In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any memorial donations be sent to St John's Lutheran Church in Prairie Du Sac.
