Ronald "Ron" W. Loether, age 83 of Sauk City, WI, passed away on December 17, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on February 28, 1942 in Richland Center, WI. He was the son of Earl and Priscilla (Ott) Loether.

Ron attended the one-room Castle Prairie Schoolhouse through 8th grade until he graduated from Sauk City High School in 1960. He served in the Army Reserves from 1964-1970. He was united in marriage to Marie Bergman on October 2, 1965 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain, WI. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Ron was employed by Consumer's Co-op, Prairie Plumbing & Heating and was co-owner of Sauk Plains Plumbing & Pumps. He also worked for Weaver Auto Parts in his retirement years. He was a gifted and passionate auctioneer who found great joy in fundraising and supporting meaningful causes such as Sauk Prairie FFA, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Walleye of Wisconsin and local churches. He loved to fish, hunt, play cards, garden, watch Badger and Packer games, and ruffle feathers (tease) those around him.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; children Dave (special friend Kim), Daryl (Bernadette), Rich (Michelle), Rhonda (Dan) and Lola (Matt); 16 grandchildren, Andria (Jacob), Tara (Michael), Dawson (Breanna), Marissa, Sarah, Brendan, Logan, Cassie, Mackenzie, Katie (fiancé Noah), Connor, Drew (fiancé Koby), Morgan, Landon, Abby and Elise; 6 great grandchildren, Xavier, Knox, Addison, Grace, Elsie, Leo and another on the way; sibling, Ken (Yvonne); sister-in-law Rita, brothers-in-law Bill, Mark (Marian), Paul (Sharon) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Bertilla, sister Judy (Robert W.) and other sibling in-laws Robert and Jean B., Gerri, Rudy and George.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1240 Nachreiner Sve., Plain on Friday, December 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Kumud presiding. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow mass in St. Luke's church basement.
