Russell Eugene Dohmann, age 89, passed away on Friday May 2, 2008 at Maplewood Village in Sauk City. He was born on July 24, 1918 in LeRoy, Illinois the son of the late William and Opal (Russell) Dohmann. He was united in marriage on June 21, 1941 to Janet Kautz McKean . Russ was a United States Veteran having served as a staff sergeant for the 15th special services of the ninth Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in the European Theater during WWII. During his life , Russ was employed by several companies as a salesman. After retiring he owned an upholstery business. He enjoyed wood carving, latch hooking, painting and reading. While living in Sauk City, Russ was a member of the Sauk Prairie Rotary, served on the Safety Commission , volunteered at the hospital and the reading program at the Middle School. He was a member of Concordia United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Clarno.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 6, 2008, at Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac, with Pastor Jeff Virchow officiating. Burial will be in the Sauk City Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday May 5, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Concordia United Methodist Church.
