Salome (Sally) Gertrude Henn, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Roxbury on March 20, 1925, the daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Bronner) Breunig.
Salome was united in marriage to Elmer Bernard Henn on October 2, 1945 at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Roxbury, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1997. Elmer and Salome were long-time farmers first in Stoughton and then Roxbury since 1956. Upon retiring, they built a home on the corner of the family farm in 1981. Salome was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a lifetime homemaker. Our memories include the delightful smell of homemade bread, scrumptious pies, wonderful angel food cake, and delicious family meals on the farm and holidays thereafter. She dearly loved her family and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan, and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and friends. She was a life-long member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Roxbury and St. Norbert's Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by twelve children, John (Evelyn) of Wheaton Illinois, David (Janice) of Sauk City, Thomas (Karen) of Columbus, Joseph (Sandi) of Evansville, William of Sauk City, Patrick (Shirley) of Whitewater, Joanne (Terry) Schulenburg of Prairie du Sac, Joyce Sanford (John Ziegler) of Genoa Illinois, Wayne (NoraLea) of Merrimac, Paul (Lois) of Prairie du Sac, Kevin (Kari) of Verona, and Christine (Paul) Nachreiner of Sauk City; 26 grandchildren, Nicole (Todd) Plagman, Jennifer (Sylvian) Breunig, Jamie (Justin) Breunig, Brian Henn, Jason (Tammy) Henn, Laura (Paul) Juckem, Allison and James Henn, Jennifer (Charles) Schultz, Michael (Betty) Lesh, Zachary Henn, Audree (Brad) Neal, Kaitlin Henn, James (Ashley) Schulenburg, Andrew (Laura) Schulenburg, Daniel (Willow) Schulenburg, Pamela Schulenburg (Derek Shaw), Traci (Dylan) Yeaton, Melanie Sanford, Brett Henn, Jessica and Stephanie Henn, Kaitlin and Kierra Henn, Chelsie Nachreiner (Eli Wickman), Joshua Nachreiner; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Breunig and Dorothy Breunig; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Elmer Carl Henn Jr. on October 2, 1955 and James Gregory Henn on September 6, 1974; one granddaughter, Melissa Jane Sanford on January 8, 1985, and one great-grandson, Ryan Thomas Juckem on April 3, 2009. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Alphons, Gregory, Otto, Edgar, Victor, Sylvester, and infant, Benno; a sister, Mathilda Gallagher; one brother-in-law, Marlyn Gallagher; and two sisters-in-law, Rose and Marcella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. NORBERT'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, with Father Jerry Zhaney officiating.
