Obituary

Sara J. Eberhardt, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2014 of complications from Alzheimers. She was born January 20, 1924, the daughter of Dewey and Bernice Albertus. She married the love of her life, Jack, on November 11, 1943 and they were happily married for 70 years. Sara had a strong faith and was a member of Concordia United Methodist Church. She devoted her life to caring for her family. She was an optometric assistant for many years, loved traveling, and camping with the family. She enjoyed sewing, entertaining family and friends and dancing with her husband.


She is survived by her son, David (Karen); daughters, Pat Mings and Pam (David) Dickson; grandchildren, Tracy Dickson, Jamie (Nate) Nehring, Aaron (Kelli) and Kyle (Kathy) Eberhardt; great-grandchildren, Sara, Kenna and Jack; siblings, Maureen Humbert, Rev. Willard (Connie) Albertus and Robert Albertus; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack, on March 15, 2014; her sister, Mary Ann Kyle, and other family and close friends who were very dear to her.


A Celebration of Life will be held at CONCORDIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 with Pastor Doris Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac.



The family would like to thank Sara's caretakers at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie for all the wonderful care they provided. Mom kept this saying on her refrigerator and lived this every day..."What you do for yourself dies with you; what you do for others lives on".
