Obituary

Scott "Uno" Reible, age 62, passed away surrounded by his family on October 29, 2023 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. The son of Earl and Sadie (Block) Reible, Scott was born August 18, 1961. He graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1979 and attended The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Scott worked magic for more than twenty years in the shipping department at Bruker in Fitchburg. With a keen mind for details and an unparalleled tenacity, Scott got things where they needed to be when nobody else could. Scott's family thanks his colleagues, Don Zeal and Ericka Pape in particular, for their support of and concern for Scott as his glioblastoma treatment unfolded.

Scott was a force of life who played as hard as he worked. He was an avid Packers, Badgers and Brewers fan. He played catcher for many years, ran dart tournaments, and right up to the last hoped to win this year's NASCAR pool. If there was a game, Scott wanted in. The king of polkas, he sent partners flying around the dance floor. He sang beautifully. Scott had a gift for gab and genuinely loved people. Never afraid to voice his opinion, he could rile people up but also put the greatest of introverts at ease. He was loyal beyond compare and a true champion of justice, equality and compassion. At Bruker, he ran the Team Emery bear drive for hospitalized children for years. He bragged about how many charity raffles he won, never really mentioning how many tickets he purchased to further the causes.

Scott is survived by his father and mother; his sisters Ann (Eric) Cook, Cindy (Mike) Bubolz, Michelle (Jeff) Danczyk, and Tammy (Brian) Linaberry; his brothers Greg (Linda), Mike (Angie Miller), Bruce (Christy) and Jon (Tami); many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, a strong cadre of friends were central to Scott's life.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister Vicky; his nephew Derek; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott's family would like to thank the Neuro-oncology staff at UW Hospital and the amazing people at Agrace Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will follow in the near future.
