Sharon "Shari" Lawler (Sorensen) age 87, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2024 in Lake Placid, Florida. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Conrad and Carol (Hockett) Sorenson. She was a 1954 graduate of Black Earth High School. Shari married Robert (Bob) Lawler in 1961 and raised their 3 children in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Shari retired in 1988 from the Wisconsin Nurses Association where she had worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant. After traveling for several years, Bob and Shari moved to the Covered Bridge community in Lake Placid, Florida in 1992 where they made numerous friends. Shari reunited with the three remaining members of her female quartet the "Brunch Bunch" at the community talent show the night before she passed. It's safe to say that she sang her heart out.
Shari is survived by her daughters, Traci (Charles) Christian and Amy (David) Dill; she has 6 loving grandchildren, Kayla (Leland) Dyer, Raymond (Samantha) Christian, Robert (Joleen) Christian, Chandler (Cody) Morris, Kinsley Hannon, Cindy Milsap; and 10 energetic great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Bill (Jane) Sorenson; sisters, Sue (Ron) Goette and Vicki Ballweg; her best friend of 75 years, (sisters at heart) Shirley (Don) Slotten; many more friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Rohr; beloved husband Bob; and son Todd.
Shari was the most selfless and caring person you ever met. Shari loved her family and would do anything for them. She was a volunteer at Manna Ministries of Lake Placid for several years and thrived on helping others.
