Shirley Slaney, 84, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 surrounded by family, after suffering a heart attack at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 23, 1939.

The greatest joys in life for Shirley were spending time with family, preparing for the holidays by decorating, baking and cooking, and playing cards, dominoes, bingo or games, and going to concerts and listening to music.

Shirley is survived by her children; Chris (Dan) Schoepp, Stan (Sheila Cook), Trish (Frank Grant) Burch, Brenda (Al) Weiss and Joyce (Tom) Schoepp; grandchildren, Nichelle (Eric) Galvan, Tyler (Kelsey) Schoepp, Brooke Schoepp, Seth Thomas, Matt (Ashley) Burch, Ashley (Noah) Donaldson, Ryan (Rachel) Weiss, Melissa Weiss (Brandon Jensen), Jarett (Kim) Schoepp and Natia (Jake) Collins; great grandchildren EJ, Gabriela, Carlos, Julian and Lydia Galván; Lilly, Charlie, and Landon Schoepp; Mason, Ayden, Tavin and Madi Thomas; Jada, Rylan, Hunter and Kyla Burch; Alia, RaeAna and Milo Donaldson; Owen and Ethan Weiss; Aubrey Schoepp and the father of her children, John Slaney.

She was preceded in death by parents Eldon and Della Powell and Virginia Abrahamson, siblings Robert, Barbara and Ronald, mother-in-law Agnes Slaney, daughter Diane Slaney, grandchildren Jeffrey Schoepp and Sarah Slaney.

A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held on Oct. 4, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Dorf Haus, 8931 County Hwy Y, Roxbury where words of remembrance will be spoke at 6:30.  Interment will be held in the Sauk City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley's name to the Sauk City Fire Dept. or 6:8, Sauk City.
