Stanley J. Postawa, age 68, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital following a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 12, 1942 in Sauk County the son of the late Stanley and Vera (Lentz) Postawa. Stan was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1967-1969. He was united in marriage to Pat Coenen on May 17, 1969. He was employed as a truck driver all his working years and was a member of the Prairie du Sac Fire Department for 33 years.


Survivors include his wife, Pat of Prairie du Sac; two sisters, Kathy Postawa and Vera Postawa, both of Middleton; two brothers, Joe Postawa of Middleton and Jon (Xina) Postawa of Tacoma, Washington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eileen (Bob) Adank, Cheryl (Tom) Adank, Dale (Lorie) Coenen, Rhonda (Mike) Enge, Gregg (Lyn) Coenen and Dean Coenen, all of the Sauk Prairie area; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Frank; a sister-in-law, Antoinette (Matt) Roth; a brother-in-law, Neale Coenen; and a nephew, Tim Adank.


A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City where friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery with military rites by the Sauk Prairie V.F.W. Post #7694.
