Steve Robert Berger, age 49, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Milwaukee on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born in Burlington on April 27, 1965 to Robert and Sally (Judd) Berger. Steve graduated Waterford Union High School, class of 1983. Steve attended school at Milwaukee School of Engineering and later graduated from M.A.T.C. with a degree in Architectural Design and Drafting in 1995. He worked for Affiliated Engineers Inc. for 18 years before returning to school at U.W. Milwaukee last fall to pursue his dream of becoming an architect. He enjoyed sailing, scuba diving, baking and cooking, gardening, Jimmy Buffett, and spending time with his cats and family.
He is survived by his children, Jacob of Sauk City, Jasmine of Merrimac and their mother Kellie of Prairie du Sac; his mom, Sally (Wayne) Luther of Reedsburg; siblings, Pam (Judd) Maxwell of Baraboo, Brian (Jean) Berger of Baraboo, and Andrea (Brian) Powell of Prairie du Sac; 7 nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Berger and paternal grandparents, Francis and Louise Berger and maternal grandmother, Emma Judd.
A Celebration of Steve's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 am at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Steve's name to the American Diabetes Association.
