Steven Chad Higgins, age 59, of Sauk City passed away at his home on Jan. 8, 2026.  He was born in Rochester, MN on Jan. 21, 1966 to Bernard and Janice (King) Higgins Sr.  He was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Rochester; class of 1984.  He was previously employed by Speedy Delivery in Rochester and as the manager of the Mermaid Carwash in Rochester.  Later he worked for his brother Bernie's cleaning company and at Mueller Sports Medicine until he was forced to retire after a debilitating stroke at the age of 49.  Steven was united in marriage to Carole (Clark) Exe on Jan. 20, 1999 in Seymour, IN.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching baseball and cheering on the Minnesota, Vikings.

Steve is survived by his wife, Carole; his dad, Bernard Higgins Sr., his son, Patrick; Carole's children, Angela and Travis Exe; 6 siblings, Bernie Jr., Nela (Allan), Tony (Sue), Nedra (Randy), Mary Jo (Scott), Joshua (Tiffany).  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Janice; and a sister-in-law, Tammy Higgins.

Steve's family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
