IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terrance "Terry"
W. Stonger
July 26, 1958 – October 24, 2025
A Celebration of Terry's Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm at the Lone Rock Community Center, 156 E. Liberty St., Lone Rock, 53556.
Terrance "Terry" Stonger, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2025, at UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. He was born on July 26, 1958, in Tomah, Wisconsin, the son of Huel and Mary (Florcyk) Stonger.
Terry grew up in Tomah and graduated from Tomah High School in 1977, where he played hockey and football. He carried his love of the outdoors throughout his life—spending his time fishing, riding his Harley, playing golf, sitting outside around a campfire and hanging out at the VFW, enjoying the view of the boats passing by on the river. Some of his happiest moments were camping with his family, especially in Hayward, Wisconsin, a place he dearly loved. He found peace there listening to the calls of the loons on the lake, a sound that always brought him comfort and joy. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, Terry never missed a game and proudly cheered on his team through every season with a cold beer in his hand.
Terry recently married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Liz" Stonger, with whom he shared true happiness and companionship. Their time together was filled with laughter, love, and deep appreciation for each other—bringing him great joy in the years leading up to his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Stonger; his children, Shannon (Stanton) Hughes, Kathryn Stonger, Joshua (Katherine) Stonger, Rianna McCrossen, and River McCrossen; and his grandchildren, Elijah Barrett, Lilyana Barrett, Adilyn Stringham, Avery Stringham, Isaac Rodriguez, Parker Stonger, and Joshua "JJ" Stonger. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Laurie Stonger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huel Stonger and Mary Mennecke; his stepfather, Donald Mannecke; his sister, Debra Lee; and his daughter, Danielle Stonger.
Terry's family, friends, and all who knew him will remember his warmth, humor, adventurous spirit, and the love he shared so freely. He will be deeply missed, but his memory and the joy he brought to others will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
