Thecla Mary Moseman, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Franklin Township on September 13, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Hetzel. Thecla married George Moseman on March 8, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1995. Together they farmed in the Black Hawk area for many years. Besides being an avid sports fan, her passion was baking, cooking and enjoying the company of her family and friends. Thecla was a generous, loving person, who was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish, Sauk City.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynet (Tom) Frey and their children, Nathan Frey and Jill (Brent) Dederich, and Diane (Dan) Zeman and their children, Travis and Tyler Zeman; a daughter-in-law, Ary Moseman and her children, Ryan and Ariel Moseman; a grandson, Wade (Casey) Moseman; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Parker, Blake, and Kaylin; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Morris "Morey" and Phil; a daughter, Carol Moseman; four brothers and five sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 with Fr. John Blewett officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
The bond between mothers and their children is one defined by love. As a mother's prayers for her children are unending, so are the wisdom, grace, and strength they provide to their children.
