Thelma L. (Pauley) Niederklopfer, age 87, passed away on May 22, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born on December 13, 1934 in Dodgeville, WI to the late Roy E and Gwendolyn (Wallace) Pauley. She attended school in Mazomanie. Thelma was united in marriage to Donovan H. Niederklopfer on July 21, 1951; he preceded her in death on July 19, 2017.
Thelma was employed and retired after 28 years of service to the Sauk Prairie School District where she worked in the High School Kitchen. Thelma had a strong interest in family history and genealogy. She was a member of the State Historical Society and the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society Inc. She enjoyed spending time with family, spending much of her retired years with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Thelma and Don enjoyed traveling together. They spent many summer days on trips through Able Trek Tours and summer nights in the Dells listening to music at the Wisconsin Opry, The Hole in the Wall and the Show Boat. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Sauk City.
Thelma is survived by six children, Donna (Curt) Barton, Joseph, Richard, Michael (Robin), Rita (Bruce) Crary and Stanley (Chauntel). 17 grandchildren, Brenda, Tina, Jason, Tim, Andrea, Mary, Chris, Kathy, Nick, BJ, Alisha, Caitlin, Justin, Jason, Louis, Nick, Christopher and 23 great grandchildren; sister Leota (Jerry) Wallendal; two brothers, Ronald (Ann) Pauley, George (Monica Walker) Pauley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by infant daughter, Mary; son, Arnold; grandson, Adam; and two brothers, Donald and Roy (Gene) Pauley; daughter-in-law, Betty.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Church of Christ, 504 Washington Ave, Sauk City on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor William Kapp officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery.
