Theo C. Nelson, age 94, passed away June 23, 2025, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born on February 21, 1931, to Orin and Lena (Grass) Crosby. Theo was united in marriage to Hugh Nelson at the First United Church of Christ, Sauk City, on June 11, 1955. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2011. She was employed by Badger Army Ammunition plant and candled eggs at the Sauk City Egg Plant. She later was a stay-at-home mom as well as after school care for kids, whom she loved as her own. Theo loved animals, and playing cards, with Rummy 500 being her favorite, and enjoyed swimming in her later years.

Her laugh was infectious to those she came in contact with, and formed relationships easily, as she had the gift of gab.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra, son in law, Jay, and grandson, Tyler who she adored.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Orville, Russell, Cliff and Orin and her sister, Marion.

Thanks to Maplewood, especially those on Evergreen Wing, who dearly loved Theo. They will always be her special Honey Bunnies. And special appreciation to Megan, Agrace Hospice, and the Drumlin Team.

A visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI. Private burial will be in the Sauk City Cemetery.
