Timothy John "T.J." Scanlon, age 60, passed away peacefully at University Hospital in Madison on Apr. 23, 2018. Tim was born in LaCrosse on Feb. 26, 1958 to the late Gerald and Lois (Houlihan) Scanlon. He graduated from LaCrosse Central High School; class of 1976. Shortly after high school, Tim came to Sauk City and soon became the owner of Hondo's in downtown Sauk City. As an entrepreneur Tim soon opened Pizza Plaza adjacent to Hondo's and later a carwash, laundry mat, and rental properties. Food and service to the community was Tim's passion and he thrived with his catering business; T.J.'s Catering. He developed a reputation for his delicious meals which could be found at family gatherings, graduation parties, weddings, anniversaries and funeral services. Tim was humble, yet proud of his self-made success and enjoyed sharing that with his family, friends and his community.

Tim is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Debbie Nelson; his siblings, Gregg Scanlon of Scottsdale, AZ, Joe Scanlon of Janesville, Steve Scanlon of Waunakee, and Shari (Jim) Garvalia of Lake in the Hills, Il., 5 nephews, 4 nieces, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Fri. Apr. 27, 2018 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Visitation will continue Apr. 28, 2018 at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the committal at the Prairie du Sac Cemetery at 10:00 am.

Tim's family would like to express their gratitude to the U.W. Hospital Trauma and Life Support Team for their support and loving care.
