Tracie M. McClung, age 53, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from complications of cancer. She was born on July 26, 1961 in Baraboo, the daughter of the late Dock and Iola (Canode) Thompson. She graduated from Sauk Prairie High School. She was united in marriage to Dan McClung on April 23, 1988 at Merrimac United Methodist Church. Tracie enjoyed living on Lake Wisconsin, boating, camping, gardening and cooking. She had a passion for painting, which she loved to share with many people. Tracie worked at Sandy's Floral in Prairie du Sac and later at Badger Army Ammunition Plant. She was a member of Merrimac United Methodist Church.
She was a gift and a blessing and will be missed by her husband, Dan and son, Bryce (Lea Larsen); siblings, Robert (Nancy) Thompson, Gale (Lorraine) Thompson, Alice (Tom) Frosch, Linda (Ron) Greenheck; two sisters-in-law, Linda Thompson and LaVonne Thompson; two brothers-in-law, Don (Anne) McClung and Mark (Suzanne) McClung and sister-in-law, Jeanette (Greg) Alff; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary, Neil and Tony Thompson; and her in-laws, John and Margaret McClung.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Merrimac, followed by a gathering at the Merrimac Conservation Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hope House, 720 Ash Street, Baraboo, WI 53913.
