Velma Marx-Lybeck, age 97, of Black Earth, went to be home with her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2015. She was born Sept. 18, 1917 to George and Nellie (Allen) Williamson. Velma married Russell Marx on Sept. 18, 1941. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1977. She later married Mathew Lybeck on Oct. 12, 1985. He died on March 30, 1999. Velma was a devoted mother and wife who took pride in her family and enjoyed welcoming guests. She had a big heart and generous spirit.
Velma is survived by two daughters, Elaine (Jim) Turk and Georgia (Theodore) Frame-Kreuser both of Black Earth; a daughter-in-law, Connie Marx-Smith of Ohio; grandchildren, Scott (Margaret) Marx, Keith (Cindy) Marx, Kristen Marx, Russell (Jennifer) Marx, Tim (Denise) Duhr, Rick (Kristina) Turk, Tom (Melissa) Turk and Tammy Frame; great-grandchildren: Britney, Taylor, Kristi, Brooke (Justin), Cody, Mackenzie, Keegan, Isaac, Russell, Elyse, Tawney, Megan, Michael (Jean), Patrick, Ben and K'la; and three great-great grandchildren, Audree, Aidenn and Parker; four step-children, Don (Linda) Lybeck, Steve (Terri) Lybeck, Pam (Joe) Kocvara, Marsha (David) Cornelius; eight grandchildren, Meg (Sean) Lybeck-Smoak, Christopher (Devri) Lybeck, Mathew (Courtney) Lybeck, Malcolm (Jenny) Lybeck, Emily, Andrew, Alyssa Cornelius, Alicia (Jess) Steindorf; and great-grandchildren: Hannah, Lizzie, Kamryn, Kianna, Tyler, Mitch and Evie. Velma is further survived by her nephew and niece, Leland (Shirley) Danz and Joyce (Ron) Poast and other relatives and friends .
In addition to Russell Marx and Matt Lybeck, she was preceded in death by a son, Dwyane Marx, grandson, Todd Frame, great-grandchild, Kierra; two sisters, Vivian Danz and Genevieve Williamson and an infant brother, Orville.
A special thanks goes to the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home, Agrace Hospice and Doctors John Schilling, Mark Davis, Robert Kriz, John Koch and Michael Shapiro for the loving care Velma received.
A celebration of Velma's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Grandma Mary's Brisbane Hall, 175 Hwy. 14, Arena, WI. Please no flowers. A private inurnment was held at Middleton Junction Cemetery.
