Vernon Alois Breunig, age 90, passed away peacefully March 22, 2015. He was born Sept. 24, 1924 in Roxbury the son of the late Meinrad and Ella (Pulvermacher) Breunig. Vernon was married to Rosella Reuter on Sept. 24, 1947. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1943-1946. Vernon worked for the Village of Sauk City Water and Light Utility Services for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife Rosella; his children, Cal (Chris) Breunig of Appleton, Lynn (Dave Tremble) Breunig of Prairie du Sac, Kurt Breunig of Sauk City; a special granddaughter, Lissa (Paul Asper) Koop of Madison; 2 great granddaughters, Linden and Rowan Asper; 4 step grandchildren, Jason (Gebriel) Lefeber, Angela (Mark) Schorer, Sarah Shumaker and Kate Tremble; and eight step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn and Rita; and a brother Lawrence.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:15 am at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City. A private interment will be held at a later date. Vernon's family requests no memorials.
