Veronica S. Breunig, age 100, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born June 15, 1909 in Roxbury, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Eckstein. She was united in marriage to Conrad Breunig on June 26, 1934. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1984. Veronica enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and especially her flowers. She was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church, St. Norbert's Altar Sodality, and Sauk Prairie Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by five children, Rosemary (Bruce) Elmer of Perry, MO, Donald (Susan) Breunig of Sauk City, Ralph (Marcella) Breunig of Roxbury, Anna Breunig of Prairie du Sac, and Harold Breunig of Middleton; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Eugene Breunig, and four sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. NORBERT'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 with Fr. Miguel Galvez officiating. Burial will be in St. Norbert's Cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
