Vickie Duhr of Sauk City, passed away August 3rd, 2024, surrounded by family after a short but mighty fight with cancer.

Vickie was born on September 14th, 1961, to Gilbert and Patsy Hering at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital and graduated Sauk Prairie High School in 1981. She was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church of Berry. You would always find Vickie in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family. Especially her scotcharoo bars and her Christmas cookies that she would make tins and tins of for friends and family. Vickie had many roles throughout her life including being a CNA, EMT, and lastly ending her working career at Plastic Ingenuity in Cross Plains after 16 years. Vickie spent her last months of life loving and soaking up her family as much as she could.

She is preceded in death by infant twin sisters and father, Gilbert Hering.

Survived by her mother, Patsy Hering, Prairie Du Sac, son, Jason Duhr (Kristen Cass) of Mazomanie, daughter, Tacy Peterson (Nick) of Sauk City; sister, Susan Weitzel (Kevin) of Black Earth; brother, Brad Hering (Amie) of Waunakee. Her grandchildren, Blayke and Ellie Peterson; nephew, Devin Hering and nieces, Emily Weitzel and Breann Hering.

Vickie's family would like to thank all staff at UW Carbone cancer center and especially the amazing nurses on B6 and B5.

A visitation will be held Monday August 12th from 4-7pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11am at St. Johns Church of Berry. 5435 Scherbel Road Black Earth WI 53515
