Viola Martha Evert, age 98, passed away peacefully at Sauk Prairie Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022.  She was born in Pennsylvania on May 31, 1924 to the late Frank and Susanna (Motznik) Gajdusek.  She was married for almost 63 years to her Navy love, Leroy Evert. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2008.

Viola enjoyed all of life, especially the times family and friends gathered together. She loved camping which they did for many years, having the title snowbirds along with many others who wintered in TX. They participated in square dancing for many years. She loved the outdoors, traveling, bird watching and gardening, which for many years, filled the freezers for the winter months. She was very proud of her canning and jelly making, which not only spoiled the family but thrilled the neighbors as well when she shared with them. Most of her life was dedicated to raising her 5 children, but she did work at Square D in Milwaukee. Even in her later years, she volunteered at the Pines reading to residents.

She is survived by her children; Bob (Leslie) Evert, Linda (Bill) Rowe, Dan (Wendy) Evert; daughter in-law, Jean Evert and daughter-in-law Debbie Evert. Grandchildren; Rob, Josh, Michelle (deceased), Bill, Taryn, David, Liane, Jenny, Casey and Hayley.  Great Grandchildren; Cassidy, Katlyn, Benjamin, Riana, Braden, Wyatt, Josh, Kyle, Kevin, Mitchell, Owen, Amy, Emma, Payton, Addyson, Taylor, Carter, Carson, Ariella and Camilla; Great Great Grandchild; Tannis and her many friends and "family" at Maplewood Village Assisted Living plus many friends in the local area. Whoever she met became a fast friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy, 2 sons Ron and Michael Evert and siblings.

A memorial service for Viola will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 at Concordia United Methodist Church, 585 5 ^th St., Prairie du Sac, WI.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
