Obituary

Virginia H. Sprecher, age 94, died on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Baraboo on June 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Ernest and Zola (Proctor) Rehbein. She was united in marriage to Roy Sprecher on June 22, 1942 in Baraboo. Virginia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Black Hawk United Methodist Church, Pine Grove Homemakers, a former president of the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a former president of the State Farm Bureau Women.


She is survived by two children, Paul (Mary) Sprecher and Doris (Nick) Schultz; 5 grandchildren, Steve and Scott (Denise) Sprecher, Teresa (Wayne) Rider, Alyson and Nicole Schultz; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; a sister, Leora Lochart; and a brother, LeRoy "Bud" Rehbein.


An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk followed by a Memorial Service. Burial will follow in Black Hawk Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
