Willard "Bill" Lee Heimlich, age 78, husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 21, 2009. He was surrounded by his family members as he took his final journey. He was born in Buckley, Illinois on August 25, 1930 to the late Paul and Alma (Krumweide) Heimlich. Bill joined the U.S. Navy in July 1950 and was honorably discharged in October 1954, having served during the Korean War. He met, and married the love of his life Esther Baumgarth on July 26, 1957. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2006.

He is survived by his daughter Julie Williams of Sauk City and a much beloved grandson, Clint Williams of Prairie du Sac and many beloved nieces and nephews from Illinois. A private graveside service will be held at the Prairie du Sac Cemetery on Tuesday, June 23 with Military Rites performed by the Sauk Prairie VFW Post 7694.
