Willard Elmer Schumann, age 89, passed away at his home on October 15, 2017. He was born on February 24, 1928, the son of the late Elmer J. and Jennie Marie (Rassmussen) Schumann.
He was a graduate of Mazomanie High School and later from M.A.T.C. in accounting. On September 27, 1952 he was united in marriage to Pearl G. Olbrecht at the Black Earth Lutheran Church. He was employed by The U.W. Poultry Science Dept. for 30 years. He retired on August 1, 1987. Willard loved to raise Bantams, enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl;
5 children, Rebecca Schumann, Jennie (Steve) Kuske, Rita (Mike Kelley) Acker, Steven (Cheryl Brisky) Schumann, Jeanne (Daniel) Booth;
5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his in laws, a son in law, Gary Lichtenburg; and a granddaughter, Jessica Acker.
A private family service will be held.
