BLACK EARTH - William "Bill" D. Danz, 82, of Black Earth passed away peacefully on February 26, 2015 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 18, 1933 to George and Olive (Evert) Danz. He proudly served in the United States Army in Korea from 1953 until 1955. When he returned home, he married the love of his life, Jean Deneen, and began a 28-year career with the Dane County Highway Department, while also farming. He was a friendly spirit who was always ready with a joke or a helping hand. He enjoyed telling stories from his life, spending time with animals (especially his dogs), and reading National Geographic cover to cover every month. He was a lifelong learner and teacher.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean; children William Danz of Waukesha, James (Mary Carlstrom) Danz of Blue Mounds, Janann (Robert) Paiva of Mazomanie, and Joel (Jennifer Farr) Danz of Blue Mounds; grandchildren Colin Paiva and Kelli and Rachel Danz; brother Robert (Faye) Danz; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation. Private services will be held with burial at St. James Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Vermont. Hooverson Funeral Home in Mazomanie is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Sauk County Humane Society.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
