Willis E. Koenig, age 82, died January 16, 2013 at his home. He was born on December 19, 1930 the son of the late Alvin and Sylvia (Goerks) Koenig. Willis was a United States Veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War.He was united in marriage to June Gieck and together lived in the Denzer area. He later moved to Madison and was employed by Oscar Mayer for many years.

Survived by his wife, June;
1 Daughter, Carolee (James) Zick of Madison;
2 Granddaughters, Stacey and Cindy Zick;
5 Great grandchildren, Paige, Meadow, Caeden Corfits, Savannah and Melody Hill;
2 Sisters, Donelda Kuhnau and Gloria (Jim) Pierce;
1 Sister in law, Delphine Koenig.

He was preceded in death by; a great grandson, Jayce Anderson, 1 brother; Merle Koenig and his step father Clarence Dunse.


A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Leland, WI, with Pastor Erich Hartenberger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI, and also at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service.
